At the central station in Munich, the fellas found a passenger waiting for her S-Bahn. As she was not familiar with the German Transportation system she did not pack rations for the delay. She therefore died due to starvation. But the fellas found this note in her hand:
Diary of Emily, Age 14
May 27, 1977
Dear Diary,
OMG, today was insane! Mom and I went to the taping of “Late Night with the Devil,” and it was unlike anything Iโve ever seen. The whole show was set in 1977, and it felt so real, like we had stepped back in time. The way they did the camera work and set everything up was super cool and totally like the old TV shows Mom talks about.
So, the host, Jack Delroy, was trying to boost his show’s ratings, and he brought on these weird guests, including a psychic medium named Christou, a parapsychologist Dr. June Ross-Mitchell, and this creepy girl named Lilly who survived a demon cult. Things got wild really fast. Christou got in touch with a dark spirit and ended up vomiting black ooze everywhere โ so gross but also kinda awesome. Then Lilly started doing all this scary stuff like changing her voice and levitating. It was freaky!
There was also this guy named Carmichael Haig, a skeptic, who kept trying to prove everything was fake. He was actually my favorite because he seemed like the only normal one and his sarcastic comments were hilarious. But even he couldnโt stop the craziness that followed.
What I loved the most was how they played with the tapes and revealed the supernatural stuff. It made everything feel more real and intense. The visual effects and sound were top-notch, especially for something trying to look old-school.
But, Diary, not everything was perfect. Some parts felt like they dragged on, especially the side plots and the first reading. Also, Jack kept having these flashbacks to old episodes, which seemed kinda unnecessary. The ending was a bit disappointing too. Instead of a big dramatic finish, we just saw Jack with his dying wife, and it wasnโt as exciting as I hoped.
And, get this, there were these two guys in their 20s sitting a few rows ahead of us. Every time something even remotely scary happened, they screamed like little girls! It was so funny but also kinda annoying. Like, seriously, they were such losers! Everyone around them kept giving them weird looks.
Overall, though, it was such a unique experience. The setting, the characters, the effects โ everything came together in a way that felt fresh but also nostalgic. Definitely a night I wonโt forget!
Love,
Emily
