Dungeons and Dragons: honour among thieves ๐ŸงŸโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿช„๐Ÿ†

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a film that attempts to bring the world and spirit of the popular roleplaying game to the big screen. The film follows Edgin (Chris Pine), a thief who teams up with a group of adventurers to steal a mysterious artifact from a hidden vault. Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and enemies that threaten their mission and their lives.

The film has a decent pacing that keeps you interested throughout. The action scenes are well-executed and thrilling, and the visual effects are realistic and not excessive. The film also has some humor, mainly from Pineโ€™s performance as Edgin. He delivers some clever lines and amusing expressions that make him a charismatic protagonist.

However, the film also has many shortcomings that prevent it from being a great film. The plot is very simple and follows the standard formula of a heroโ€™s journey. There are no major twists or surprises that challenge your expectations or make you think deeper about the themes or characters. The film also borrows heavily from pop culture tropes that have been seen before in other movies, such as portal guns, high noon showdowns and heist sequences.

The characters are also not very complex or developed. They have basic arcs that do not explore their motivations or backgrounds in depth. They mostly serve as stereotypes of their respective races or classes, such as Holga (Michelle Rodriguez) as the tough orc warrior, Xenk (Regรฉ-Jean Page) as the mysterious elf rogue, Simon (Justice Smith) as the nerdy gnome wizard and Doric (Sophia Lillis) as the rebellious dwarf cleric.

The audio design is average but not remarkable. The soundtrack is composed by John Powell and features some epic orchestral pieces that fit well with the fantasy genre. However, there are no memorable themes or motifs that stand out or enhance the emotional impact of certain scenes.

One of the most frustrating aspects of real live was, that before watching this the reviewers had to answer questions from the local public transportation department before. It felt like being trapped in a dungeon full of riddles and traps that had nothing to do with our quest. We had to answer questions about bus routes, fares, pricing, opinion, schedules and safety regulations before we could enjoy our movie experience.

Overall, Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is an enjoyable film that will appeal to fans of fantasy and action genres. It has some fun moments and spectacle that will keep you entertained for two hours. However, it does not offer anything new or original that will make you remember it for long after leaving the theater.
